Is a septic inspection worth it when buying a house?
Yes. One buyer was told where the tank was, went to find it, and it was not there. He had us bring the locator and the camera out. There was no septic tank at all. The seller had plumbed the house into a dry well, which is not legal and not a septic system, and the inspection caught it before closing.
An inspection is cheap next to a system replacement. If nothing is being bought or sold, you probably do not need one on its own, because we look things over every time we pump anyway.
